The Best 2-Ingredient Face Masks Recipes List

July 10, 2017 by Arianne Leave a Comment

Face masks are a powerful way to add nutrients to the face while exfoliating the skin. When made well, they don’t damage the fragile skin but get deep into the pores to remove all dirt and grime from them. Your face masks are the perfect way to reduce the risk of acne and leave your face hydrated and smooth.

But you need to get the right masks, right? Now you’re tempted to go into the stores and look for all the best options on the shelves.

Don’t fall for the marketing ploys. The best thing you can do is make your face masks from home with totally natural ingredients. The great thing about making your own is that you don’t need to mix a lot of different ingredients together. You can focus on just two ingredients for each face masks and get plenty of benefits from them.

Here are the best 2-ingredient face mask recipes that you need to use right now.

Flawless Skin Is Possible with Honey and Avocado

Let’s start with some honey and avocado for the first mask. This is nourishing and hydrating for your skin, helping to cleanse the pores, support the skin cells, and moisturize deeply.

Avocado is one of the best ingredients for the whole body, although often overlooked. It gets a bad reputation for its high-fat content, but it’s the fat content that you want—the part that’s good for you. The fatty oils will support the tissues within the skin, improving flexibility and natural oil production.

When you get enough moisture into your skin, your body gets the message that it can reduce the amount of sebum created on a daily basis. You end up with drier skin, which is important for anyone who naturally has oily and greasylooking skin.

Meanwhile, the honey will help to heal damaged skin cells and protect them from the free radical side effects. Honey will also support the immune system through the vitamin C, helping to kill more bacteria building in your pores.

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1tsp honey

Method:

  • Remove the stone and scoop out half your avocado, placing it in a bowl to mash
  • Add a little raw honey and mix, so it creates a paste

Apply the mask to your face for 20 minutes and then rinse with clean water. Do this a few times a week to get the most from your face mask.

It’s best to use raw honey. This is in its completely natural form and doesn’t have added, damaging ingredients.

You can also make this a 1-ingredient face mask with just the avocado if you’d like. It’s just as effective thanks to all the nutrients within avocado.

Brighten Your Skin with Potato Juice and Flour

Who would have thought that potato juice and flour would make the perfect face mask? This is the best option when you want to brighten your skin’s natural coloring and get yourself ready for the summer.

The two ingredients work together as an exfoliant. The dead skin cells are removed from your face, and the newer cells can shine right though. Removing the dead skin cells also helps to unblock the pores, so you end up removing the bacteria to decrease the risk of acne forming.

Meanwhile, potato acts have a naturally bleacher. You can lighten your scars, helping them to blend into the rest of your skin. It’s also possible to lighten age spots and blemishes to make your skin look flawless.

Ingredients:

  • 1g of flour
  • 1g of potato, juice

Method:

  • Mix the two ingredients together to create a paste

It is that simple to make. You then put the mask on for about 20 minutes. It will start to dry, and you may feel your skin feeling a little tight while it’s on. After 20 minutes, rinse off with some lukewarm water.

You only need to do this once or twice a week.

The potato juice can be replaced with coconut juice or green tea if you’d like.

Get a Smoother Complexion with Milk Powder and Coconut Water

You know that coconut and milk are good for the skin. Both can hydrate, and the milk will give you the proteins that your face will need for good levels of collagen.

When working together, it’s possible to get theflawless, smooth, and glowing skin. You just need coconut water and milk powder together. There’s no need to add anything else to the mix.

While hydrating the skin and improving the collagen levels, the two ingredients will improve the pigmentation balance within your skin. You get a more uniform look. The milk also helps to reduce the anti-aging process, so you don’t have as many wrinkles or fine lines.

Ingredients:

  • Milk powder
  • Coconut water

Method:

  • Start with just a tsp of milk powder in a bowl
  • Pour in enough water to create a paste
  • Now you can top up the two until you have enough for your face mask

Make sure you mix the two ingredients together. Smear it all over your face and neck for the best results, and use every few days.

If you can’t get coconut water, use lemon juice instead. This offers many of the same benefits and will also aid with the lightening of the skin through the citric acid.

Glow with Turmeric and Cucumber

This next mask will help you get a natural glow. Turmeric has long been used for the whitening of the teeth. It’s effective and balancing at the same time. So it’s not that surprising that it will also help to lighten the skin, removing impurities caused by aging and sun damage.

While doing this, the turmeric will also help to rejuvenate and protect the skin cells. It’s full of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. The benefits will work together to fight off free radical and oxidative stress damage, so your cells can repair and grow normally. You can fight off issues like cancer and wrinkles.

Meanwhile, the cucumber helps to hydrate the skin. This will help to balance out the oil production, so you don’t end up creating too much. If you have dry skin, the cucumber will help to soothe and cool, while the turmeric curbs the inflammation.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cucumber
  • 1/2tsp ground turmeric

Method:

  • Blend the cucumber
  • Pour into a bowl and then add the turmeric, mixing well to create a paste

Like the other face masks, you just need to apply it and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Remove with lukewarm water, and you’re good to go.

This is best used as a nightly face mask. The turmeric has an initial habit of staining the skin. Doing it before bed will mean your skin has a chance to release the staining.  Use it a couple of times a week for the best results.

Get a Beautiful Shine with Papaya and Lemon Juice

It’s time to get fruity with your face mask. Papaya mixed with some lemon juice is the face mask that you want to use when you need glowing, beautiful skin.

Papaya is a gentle exfoliant, which will mean you get rid of the dead skin cells. The newer cells will shine through to the top layers of your skin. At the same time, you remove some of the old layers of skin, meaning you can remove signs of acne scarring, as they will usually only affect the upper layers of your skin.

Of course, there are the benefits of antioxidants in the tropical fruit. These will fight against oxidative stress and free radicals, which commonly lead to signs of aging.

When you add the lemon juice in, you get the benefit of the acid lightening the skin. The vitamin C will also support the immune system to help kill the bacteria that cause acne to form.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of papaya pulp
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Ingredients:

  • Mix the two ingredients together to create a paste

Apply your mask to your face and neck and leave for around 20 minutes. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to reduce the amount of lemon juice that you use.

The lemon juice will make your skin more sensitive to the sun’s rays. It’s best to use this when you are going to bed or if you’re not going out much to protect your skin from UV ray damage and burning.

Brighten and Heal with Aloe Vera and Green Tea

It’s time to mix two natural products that are known for healing and soothing the skin. You’ll also get a mask that brightens.

Aloe vera is one of the most popular ingredients when it comes to skin care products. In fact, it’s now added to the majority of over the counter options. The best thing to do is use aloe vera leaves or gel that is naturally made to avoid the extra chemicals.

You’ll get a soothing and healing benefit from the use of aloe vera. It is known for soothing burns while helping to reduce inflammation and sensitivity. And if that isn’t enough, the green tea is full of antioxidants that protect the skin’s cells from free radical and oxidative stress damage.

Green tea will also lighten the skin, helping to reduce the look of acne scars and dark spots.

There are plenty of aloe and green tea face masks out there, but they will contain other chemicals. You want to use your ingredients and make it yourself instead.

Ingredients:

  • 2-4tsp aloe vera gel
  • 1tbsp green tea

Method:

  • Mix the two together in a bowl

Apply the face mask to your skin and leave for 20 minutes or so. You can use this facial mask on a daily basis if you’d like. This is a mask you can use on a morning to rejuvenate your skin and get you ready for a long day.

Switch the Aloe Vera for Some Honey

Instead of making the aloe vera and green tea mask above, switch out the aloe vera and replace it with some honey. You still get all the same benefits of the green tea, but you get the added healing benefits of the honey. Make sure it’s raw honey that you use.

One benefit of this is that you use the green tea bag, which means no discarding it after you drink your green tea. Put it to one side so it can cool and dry.

After a long day or week, your skin will be puffy, oily, and pimply. You want to get rid of all that, which the green tea bag can offer. When mixed with the honey, you get extra antioxidants and some antibacterial properties to help reduce redness and puffiness, while protecting the skin cells.

Ingredients:

  • 1 used green tea bag
  • 1-2tsp raw honey

Method:

  • Open the tea bag and tip the leaves into a bowl
  • Add the honey and mixed

Use the mask on your face. This is one that you only need to use for 10 minutes to get all the benefits, making it the perfect options for moms on the run. You will also get the benefit of only using it once a week and still find it highly effective.

It’s Time to Make Your Own Face Masks

You don’t need to spend a fortune on store-bought, chemically-laden face masks. It’s time to take advantage of the ones that you can make at home. When you use all natural and raw ingredients, you will get rid of processed garbage and harmful toxins. You reap all the benefits, including healing, soothing, and brightening your skin.

These face masks will take minutes to make. You could make a larger pot and store them in the fridge for your weekly routine. Try out a mixture of them throughout the week, depending on the aims and goals that you have.

My favorite is certainly the green tea and honey for a long week at work.
